Rosie Gonzalez hails from Brownsville, Texas, but has lived in San Antonio the better part of the last 25 years: she has made San Antonio her home. She is the daughter of the late Raul Gonzalez Rios, a native of Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and Alicia G. Gonzalez, a native of El Calabos, Texas, and a resident of Brownsville. She is also the very proud aunt of Erika Gonzalez, daughter of Rosie's brother and sister-in-law, German and Hanna Gonzalez of Round Rock, Texas.

Rosie attended St. Mary's University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and later her law degree. For most of her adult life, she has worked diligently for the betterment of families and children. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she worked in the many areas of social work: child abuse investigator, community emergency assistance program coordinator, gang counselor, program director for an adolescent substance abuse program, juvenile probation officer . . . and the list goes on. This experience taught her that children learn what they live. She has committed her life to working toward teaching children and families that there is hope for a better life filled with culture, education, and a sense of pride. She has modeled that the core to happiness and success is rooted in helping others, striving to be our very best, and giving unconditionally of ourselves to those around us who are in need of help.

Rosie knows the system and she knows the law. Rosie has real life experience working on solutions and projects to improve the lives of many. With your help, her life experience can play an integral part in ensuring that our community is safe, our children in the juvenile system have an opportunity at rehabilitation and that restitution is afforded to victims within the Juvenile Courts system. Rosie wants to make sure that families and children that come before her court have a voice.

Help Rosie bring her passion for justice back to the heart of Bexar County-OUR YOUTH. Vote for Rosie Gonzalez for Judge of the 436th Judicial District Court of Bexar County on November 2, 2010.
